In an interview, Castle Cab Corp.’s Andrew Stoppelmann said that he expects there to be “brisk New Year’s Eve business.”

Stoppelmann, a Pound Ridge resident, said they will be open until 2 a.m. on Jan. 1. He added that they are fully staffed and “ready to go.”

Speaking about what differentiates Castle Cab from a limousine service, Stoppelmann explained that the company, which began service on Oct. 1, has a lower fee structure. Unlike limos, Castle Cab’s taxis will not be going into New York City, he explained.

Stoppelmann, who has 30 years of transportation-industry experience, described New Year’s Eve as a “brisk holiday” for anybody in transportation. He is one of three owners in the company, with the other two being his brother, Ed, along with Jason Rosenzweig.

Castle Cab is not Stoppelmann’s only transportation venture. He also owns a limo company called Red Oak Transportation, which he also expects to do brisk business on New Year’s Eve.

Castle Cab also offers a mobile app, which comes in iOS and Android versions, for customers to use its service. The app is available on its website, http://ridecastle.com/ or 914-273-2535.
