ESPN Sues Verizon Over Stripped Down Pay-TV Offering

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. – Walt Disney Co.’s ESPN has sued Verizon Communications for allegedly breaching a contract on how the sports network should be distributed, The Wall Street Journal reported.

The lawsuit was filed in New York Supreme Court Monday, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Last week, Verizon started offering plans that allow viewers to buy basic channels and then pay more for other channels including sports and lifestyle networking, The Wall Street Journal reported.
