Monet Painting Could Get $45M In Sotheby's Auction

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Sotheby's, a global art business company in New York City, N.Y., will be auctioning off more work by famous artist Claud Monet, including a piece on water lilies worth up to $45 million, according to The Wall Street Journal

In February, Sotheby's held an auction selling five Monet pieces totaling up to $84 million. The first auction was in London. With its upcoming auction in New York, the company will have six paintings up for bidding, with an expected total between $78 million and $110 million, the Wall Street Journal reported.

The auction in May will include work by the artist such as "Water Lilies," and “Haystacks at Giverny," The Wall Street Journal said.
