The cozy Ladle of Love Bronxville, a gourmet take-out shop which will serve soups, sandwiches, salads and other locally sourced healthful comfort food, feeds into the company's mission with its love of food and community.
So explained Owner Leslie Lampert, the founder of the Mount Kisco-based catering and restaurant group.
"We waited this long, so I figured we might as well open on the national day of love," she said of her Tuesday, Feb. 14 opening.
Bronxville, she said, was a long time coming, after many years looking at a host of other spots in Southern Westchester. This one, at 18 Palmer Avenue across from NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital, is perfect, she said, though small. It's 170 square feet, half the size of its Mount Kisco sibling, but the goal, she said, is to replicate this kind of venue into other parts of Westchester.
"We like little spaces where we can maximize the square footage," said Lampert. She said all the cooked food will be prepared in Mount Kisco --- the flagship will be the "mother ship" so to speak -- to maintain the same quality and consistency.
All food is locally sourced and seasonally driven. Lampert likes to say the new spot will offer slow food with fast delivery.
The White Plains resident said she's always enjoyed Bronxville, from her days visiting friends here over the 25-plus years she's lived in Westchester, as well as from her summer experiences with her Love On The Run Food Truck, which was an occasional vendor at the Bronxville Farmer's Market.
"We got to know some of the shopkeepers and people in town," said Lampert, "It's such a warm and welcoming and lovely commuity and we're thrilled to finally be here."
