MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. — The Mount Kisco Chamber of Commerce’s Annual “Sidewalk Sales Days” on Sept. 8 and 9 has added a few new events to the lineup for this year's event.

New at the family-friendly street fair and sidewalk sale is an art show hosted by the Friends of the Mount Kisco Public Library and “You Can Dance, You Can Sing,” a talent contest offering cash prizes.

“[The event] continues to evolve, continues to get bigger and better,” said Chamber President Phil Bronzi.

Vendor tents for local businesses and organizations will be set up throughout the shopping center and along South Moger Avenue, and carnival rides and a food court featuring food from Applebee’s, Bellizzi, MTK Tavern and the BGR Joint will take over the Shopper’s Park lot.

Attendees of this year’s event will also find musical entertainment from performers Lisa Jane Lipkin and Fred Gillen, interactive performances and demonstrations from local martial arts and dance companies and pet adoptions by Pets Alive.

Sales Days has been going on for close to 40 years, according to chamber executive director Kathleen Mooney, so “there are a lot of [vendors] who have their spot, so people know where to find them,” she said.

Bronzi described the event as a trade show in many respects, but, this year especially, he said, “It’s a lot more family friendly than it used to be.”

The chamber has locked in around 90 vendors so far, including Seasonz Gift Boutique, Via Michelle, Tano, Wilson & Son Jewelers, Beads by Roz, Nino Bossi Handbags, Kaleidoscope Childcare Center and Reining Cats & Dogs, and Bronzi said the chamber is expecting a bump in sign-ups during the last two to three weeks before the event.

Sidewalk Sales Day will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8,  and from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9.  For additional event information, contact the Mount Kisco Chamber Office at (914) 666-7525 or MtKiscoChamber@aol.com or Events To Remember at (914) 396-7664 or EventsCJH@EventsRemember.com.
