The fitness center earned the top honor in the Big Goals Big Rewards Competition, sponsored by Mindbody. The contest lasted from Feb. 1 through April 30 and “encouraged business owners to chase their dreams and conquer their boldest goals by leveraging technology.”

Heather Queiroz and Diana Pecci -- owners of NextBarre, 293 Lexington Ave., Mount Kisco, N.Y. -- demonstrated the best performances in three separate business growth categories such as client growth and volume of online bookings. The honor makes NextBarre one of the fastest growing start-ups in the nation this year.

For their efforts, the duo received $10,000 in prize winnings and a free trip to Mindbody’s headquarters in San Luis Obispo, Calif.

"Do something that you love, because it will consume you 24/7," said Queiroz in a statement.

Queiroz, a Mount Kisco resident, teamed up with NextBarre founder Pecci to bring the California-based company to the East Coast. NextBarre has locations in Danville and Lafayette, Calif., and is adding two new locations in San Francisco.
