The Briarcliff Manor designer, the founder of Manhattan-based Rosena Sammi Jewelry, recently came out with a new "Women Supporting Women" collection which further expands her mission to promote female entrepreneurship, especially for women in the lower economic echelons of their communities.

She already sports a "Who's Sari Now?" collection -- earrings, bangles, rings, necklaces and headbands -- made from upcycled saris, with proceeds going towards educating women and children rescued from the red light districts of India. (See earlier Daily Voice story HERE.)

Now, the mom of two has paired with the Gramshree organization to help champion what she calls "an inspiring program of change."

"We have worked together to create a beautiful collection and in doing so have helped empower women to make real change in their lives—one accessory at a time," said Sammi.

Expect colorful bags and scarves in hand block prints.

“As an advocate for equality for women and as the mother of two young girls, I have a deep desire to affect change for women," added Sammi.
