MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. -- Mount Kisco native Valerie Tripp, the author of the popular "American Girl" book series, will be returning to her home town on Saturday.

Tripp's visit is part of a fundraiser for Mount Kisco Child Care Center (MKCCC), which announced the occasion and details.

Tripp, a graduate of Mount Kisco Elementary School and Fox Lane High School, will first stop at her old elementary school from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for a book signing and reading. There, Tripp will hold a Q&A. Books will be available for purchase at the school and admission is $5 per person at the door.

Later in the day, Tripp will head to the Katonah Village Library, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., for an exclusive afternoon tea with a '50s sock hop theme, the announcement adds. Tickets are available on MKCCC's website, which is www.mkccc.org and cost $125 per person. The tickets must be purchased in advance, MKCCC's announcement adds.
