Former Millwood Resident Pens Comic Novel About Crazy Work World

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- Janet Garber, a former Millwood resident, has taken her life experiences as a Chief Human Resources Officer and turned it into comic novel.

"Dream Job, Wacky Adventures Of An HR Manager" follows protoganist Melanie Kohl who often feels she is running in place and getting nowhere, starting with her mind-numbing commute to work.

As she heads inexorably towards a breakdown, hastened by the murder of her much hated boss and the appointment of an even more sinister and stupid replacement, she finally flies off the wheel and catapults into the arms of a handsome stranger. Will love conquer all?

Garber will talk about her book and the important part humor played in motivating her to become an author when she speaks at the Chappaqua Library, Wednesday, Aug. 10 at 7 p.m.
