Maryann Mullins of Stafford is accused of pointing the gun at the boy on Sunday morning, June 26, the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said. The boy said Mullins got behind his car at the intersection of Butler Road and Chatham Heights Road just after 7:30. He told deputies she flashed her lights and waved her hands in the air to get his attention, authorities said. It's unclear what sparked the altercation.

Mullins pulled up alongside him on Butler Road, where deputies said she pulled out a purple 9-millimeter handgun from her glove box and pointed it at him. She then sped away. The teen gave a description of the car and the license plate to deputies, they said.

Authorities arrested her earlier this week, the Sheriff's Office said. Officials did not provide any information on her charges, but an incident report said a magistrate released her from custody without bail.
