A customer at Plaza Nails in the Radburn Plaza Building directed police to the soft-farbric, lime-green bag on the sidewalk in front of the Istanbul Café & Grill next door just after 10 a.m., Sgt. Brian Metzler said.

Fair Lawn police evacuated all three floors of the building and closed Plaza Road between Fair Lawn Avenue and Howard Avenue and High Street between Plaza Road and Abbott Road.

The Bergen County Sheriff's Bomb Squad X-rayed the package, which contained sand that was used to hold down the café’s sidewalk sign during a windy weekend, Metzler said.
