Mount Pleasant May Drop Some Restrictions In Residential Zoning Moratorium

MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. -- The Mount Pleasant Town Board may vote to end some of the restrictions to its residential zoning moratorium during a meeting Tuesday, according to The Examiner News.

The board enacted the moratorium last summer due to ambiguities in the current code that were not clear cut. In January, the moratorium was extended to July, but the board may vote to drop the restrictions on walls, fences and emergency electrical generators, said The Examiner News.

The moratorium currently covers sheds, storage bins, generators, windmills, fences, motor homes, recreational vehicles, boats, retaining walls, commercial vehicles, portable storage pods and clothing bins. The city is working to clarify the code's language which was last revised in the 1990s, according to The Examiner News.
