Robert Parlin was pronounced dead at the scene of the 5:30 p.m. crash on Stafford Avenue near Hilliard Boulevard, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said in a statement.
Driver Jeydon Lowe, 24, of Barnegat, was speeding when he lost control of his 2009 Chevy Cobalt, the prosecutor said.
Stafford Township Police Department responded and found Lowe with minor injuries. He was taken to Southern Ocean County Medical Center for treatment, Billhimer said.
This crash was being investigated by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Vehicular Homicide Unit, Stafford Township Police Department and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit.
