The decision, made earlier in August during a Planning Board meeting, will affect 14 electric car parking spaces near the Sheraton Hotel at Premier Plaza, on Route 119, according to the town.

According to the statement, the move comes as property owners, business owners and the town have made "significant investments in clean energy," including the introduction of solar panels, green roofs and LED lighting.

The electric charging stations further move the town's sustainability focus forward, according to the statement, which added that each environmental project success plays a vital role in the town's Draft Comprehensive Plan.
