Westchester residents can meet -- and hear from -- Somers resident Bonnie Sue Rauch on Celebrate Somers day. The community event, on Saturday, Sept. 9, is taking place at the Towne Center, 325 Route 100 and will include a host of activities.

Head to the post office first (110 Market Plaza) from 10 a.m. to noon for where you can meet Rauch. She will be signing autographs and discussing her stamp-pleasing photograph which appears on the Postal Service’s new Protect Pollinators Forever postage stamps. (Go here for earlier Daily Voice story.)

Rauch, an adjunct Professor at Westchester County Community College and a private pilot, has been taking photographs of nature for more than 45 years. Her work has been published in textbooks, magazines, calendars, websites, and now  -- a U.S. postage stamp.
