MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. – The Mount Kisco Arts Council is to open a “pop up” art gallery this weekend, the first of several in the coming months that will specifically highlight the works of Mount Kisco artists.

Among those whose work will be included in the series are Alan Reingold, Rich Alexander, Cheryl Alexander Fitzgibbons, Andre Ferrera and John Rice.

The opening pop up event is scheduled for 1 – 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 20, according to organizers.

Similar "pop up" events will occur at the Arts Council’s gallery, 10 South Moger Ave., through mid-January, according to organizers.

During the two-month period, the gallery will be open on Saturday and Sunday afternoons and will offer light refreshments and live music on alternate Friday evenings, according to organizers.

The Mount Kisco Arts Council was established earlier this year by the village board.

According to Lisa Abzun, an event coordinator, displaying the work of local artists in the “pop up gallery” format is directly in line with the group's goals.

“This event is an exciting realization of the Arts Council’s mission to be a collective voice for the arts by supporting, promoting and enriching our community …” Abzun said in a statement.
