MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. -- The Mount Kisco Chamber of Commerce will honor Charlie Pieragostini and Northern Westchester Hospital at its Annual Gala on May 11.
"We couldn't have a better duo, who each in their own ways big and small makes Mount Kisco such a wonderful place to be," said chamber Executive Director Gina Picinic. "We're grateful for the work that both Charlie and Northern Westchester has done and the invaluable service they have provided over the years."
Pieragostini will receive the Citizen of the Year award, and Northern Westchester Hospital will be honored with the Organization of the Year award.
He was superintendent of recreation for the village and led efforts to build a skate park, designated soccer field and rehabilitate the three-pool complex at Leonard Park.
Pieragostini also volunteered as the first AYSO Soccer commissioner in Mount Kisco and was president of the Maroon’s Junior Football League and a founding member of the Fox Lane Booster Club.
Northern Westchester Hospital opened on Aug. 20, 1916, with a mission to serve all members of the community. In the near-century since, it has grown from a 15-bed hospital to a 245-bed, all private room, non-profit facility serving members of the community.
The gala will take place at the Holiday Inn in Mount Kisco from 6:30 to 10 p.m.
