Recently named the "spokesdog" for New York State Animal Advocacy Day in June, Bocker has gained worldwide fame with more than 13,000 friends and fans on Facebook, his own Twitter page and now with the release of his doggy memoir "Chasing Bocker's Tale.”

Onscreen, Bocker has made film appearances in “Men In Black 3,” “Eat Pray Love” and “War of the Worlds,” and on TV, Animal Planet's "Dogs101," NOVA, “Good Morning America” and “The View,” where host Joy Behar gave him a bath on live television.

"He's been in every fashion ad you can think of," said owner Mount Kisco resident Marie Shelto, like Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, Barney’s NY, AT&T, Target and Chase Bank.

“But a great part of his life now is helping children and working with shelters, fundraising, things like that," said Shelto.

Now that Bocker is 9 and has been working since he was 1 1/2 years old, Shelto said she is trying to focus on his fundraising and therapy dog work at shelters and charitable organizations like the Richmond Community Center in Mount Kisco.  Bocker also works as a reading buddy for children in the Tail Wagging Tutor program, participates in A Fair Shake for Youth and raises money for the SPCA of Westchester.

Last Saturday, Bocker and Shelto participated in a day of support for local businesses in Newtown organized through Facebook. The C.H. Booth Library asked Bocker to be the special guest at its children’s event.

"They're trying to make it a day where they can get the children started to get back to whatever normal is going to be for the area," she said. "They just wanted the kids to be able to get out and have some fun."

Every month, Shelto said, Bocker donates partial proceeds from his book to a different fundraising organization, which in February will be for the Sandy Hook Children’s Fund.  Shelto said her nephew is a pediatric dentist in town and many of the 20 children who died in the Sandy Hook school shooting were his patients.

On Saturday, Bocker will have two 45-minute programs at 11 a.m. and noon where Shelto will read from the new book, which is written from Bocker’s perspective.  Register online at the C.H. Booth website.
