MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. -- The Mt. Kisco Volunteer Fire Department invites residents to join them for a memorial service on Sept. 11.

The service will start at 6:15 p.m. at 100 Main St.. Following a brief ceremony people are invited to the Mutual Firehouse across the street for some light refreshments. 

The 9/11 Memorial Monument was designed by retired F.D.N.Y. Lieutenant Rich Alexander and built by swimming pool professionals from Westfair Pools and Mt. Kisco Pool Service, along with members of the Mt. Kisco Volunteer Fire Departments. All funds were donated by residents and merchants of Mt. Kisco.

The monument features two solid granite towers, each weighing 600 pounds. They were quarried and polished in India, then shipped to Canada were they were laser engraved.

The monument was dedicated on 9/11/11 by Gov. Cuomo with nearly 300 firefighters and 400 local residents in attendance.
