Residents who volunteer for the event, which starts at 10 a.m., will be asked to remove cans, bottles and debris from the lake's border, with the aim of restoring the area to its natural state.

Volunteers will be given gloves, garbage bags and bottled water.

Plans are for two teams to be split along the north and south ends of the lake on Byram Lake Road.

Byram Lake is in Armonk and Bedford. However, it is owned by Mount Kisco and is used as its water supply. It also supplies drinking water to some people in Bedford.
