All roles are open to this classic, including a special communitywide search to find Toto. Dog auditions for Toto will only be on May 18 from 7:30-8:30 p.m. There will be rehearsals from the end of June through July 31, with performance dates set for July 22-25 and July 29-31. To sign up for an audition and get more information, contact info@denisesimoncoaching.com.
Unique to this performance will be its interactive nature. Audiences will be taken on an adventure through the yellow brick road in Westmoreland Sanctuary woods, where they will participate as part of the performance while meeting their favorite Oz characters: Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man, The Lion, Toto, Glinda, The Witch, the Munchkins and many more.
Ann Paul, director at Westmoreland Sanctuary, said, “We’re proud to host 'The Wizard of Oz' at Westmoreland. We take the performance outdoors and into the woods for people to enjoy all that surrounds them. Nature plays its own role as part of the performance as a bird or butterfly – unrehearsed of course – may enter a scene at any point to add to the magic and setting that only the outdoors can provide. It’s a special experience for all, so please come and audition for a role, or simply come to a performance. Either way, it’s community at its best."
