MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. — An Oktoberfest celebration, a concert featuring the music of Herbie Hancock and an interactive cider making demonstration are among the events happening around Mount Kisco this weekend.
Friday, Oct. 19
Friday Night Entertainment at MTK Tavern: 6:30 p.m. Musician Chris Fox will take the stage at 6:30 p.m. and The Geoff Hartwell Band will be on at 9:30 p.m. MTK Tavern, 30 E Main St., Mount Kisco.
Saturday, Oct. 20
Mount Kisco Rotary Breakfast: 8:30 to 11 a.m. The beneficiary for this breakfast fundraising event will be North East Westchester Special Recreation. Mount Kisco Holiday Inn, 1 Holiday Inn Drive, Mount Kisco.
Marsh Sanctuary Eighth Annual Oktoberfest: 3 p.m. At the sanctuary's Eighth Annual Marsh Sanctuary Oktoberfest, enjoy the music of Julie Corbalis and the Bryan Gordon Band. Food and drinks are included with admission. Marsh Sanctuary, 114 S Bedford Road, Mount Kisco.
Music of Herbie Hancock's Mwandishi Band: 2 p.m. Bob Gluck, a music professor at SUNY Albany, brings his band to the Mount Kisco Library. Gluck, who is an alumnus of Horace Greeley High School, is the author of the upcoming book "You'll Know When You Get There: Herbie Hancock and the Mwandishi Band." Mount Kisco Public Library, 100 E Main St., Mount Kisco.
Sunday, Oct. 21
Cider Making: 1 to 2 p.m. Come show the kids how fresh cider is made at this hands-on demonstration of old-fashioned cider making with the sanctuary's hand-powered cider press. The event is free for members and costs $5 per person for non-members. RSVP to Westmoreland Sanctuary, 260 Chestnut Hill Road, Mount Kisco.
