What To Do In Mount Kisco This Weekend

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. — A visit with second U.S. President John Adams, a Halloween window painting contest and a costume carnival are among the events happening around Mount Kisco this weekend.

Friday, Oct. 26 Westchester Mixed Martial Arts and Fitness Halloween Costume Party : 6 to 8 p.m. Kids ages 5 to 12 are invited to come in costume for a Halloween costume party featuring pizza, games and fun. Fee is $20, but kids can bring a buddy for free. Go to the Westchester MMA site . Westchester Mixed Martial Arts and Fitness, 333 N Bedford Road, Mount Kisco.

Saturday, Oct. 27 Halloween Window Painting Contest : 10 a.m. to noon. Hosted by the Mount Kisco Recreation Commission, this fun contest for kindergartners through sixth-graders lets kids paint their own Halloween designs on store windows in Mount Kisco's business district. Paint and brushes are provided. Pre-register at the recreation office Friday. Downtown Mount Kisco.

"Trunk or Treat" Halloween Family Event : 1 to 3 p.m. Families are invited to adorn their cars with Halloween decorations and open their tailgates as kids go from car to car trick-or-treating. Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 15 S. Bedford Road, Mount Kisco.

Meet John Adams : 2 p.m. Colonial America expert George Baker presents a one-man show that depicts the second U.S. president, John Adams. Children's presentation goes from 2 to 4 p.m. and an adult's presentation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. The event is sponsored by The Friends of the Mount Kisco Public Library. Mount Kisco Public Library, 100 E Main St., Mount Kisco.

Sunday, Oct. 28 Halloween Costume Carnival: 3 to 5 p.m. All participants are welcome to come in full costume for a free old fashioned carnival as well as the Halloween window painting awards ceremony. This event is presented by the Mount Kisco Recreation Commission. Memorial Complex, Leonard Park, Mount Kisco.

Feeling Groovy: Music with Miss Patti: 3 p.m. Children's entertainer and educator Patti Hupp is bringing ArtSmart & Feeling Groovy Music to Sunday's costume carnival. Leonard Park, Mount Kisco.
