BEDFORD, N.Y. – Bedford's 40th anniversary art show, several day care and school open houses and a production of the musical comedy “Once Upon a Mattress” are among the events happening in the Bedford and Mount Kisco area this weekend.

Friday, Jan. 25 Dodge Ball Kids Party: 6 p.m. Drop off kids ages 5 to 13 for two hours of dodge ball, pizza, games and prizes. Admission is $20. Bring a buddy for free. Non-members are welcome. 40th Annual Bedford Art Show: 6:30 p.m. St. Matthew’s Art Show features local artists displaying and selling their work in the Fellowship Hall at St. Matthew’s Church. This year’s show will feature contemporary paintings, sculpture and photography. There will be a gala preview party Friday, Jan. 25, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. The exhibition sale continues Saturday, Jan. 26, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday, Jan. 27, from noon to 4 p.m. Proceeds benefit local charities supported by the Women of St. Matthew’s. BCT presents "Once Upon A Mattress”: 7:30 p.m. This is a spin on the familiar classic “The Princess and the Pea.” “Mattress” was written by Jay Thompson, Dean Fuller and Marshall Barer, with music by Mary Rodgers and lyrics by Barer. Play also runs Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Bedford Hills Community House, 74 Main St., Bedford Hills.

Open House at The Little Garden Child Care Center: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Little Garden Child Care Center will host an open house through Thursday, Jan. 31.  Tour Little Garden’s new facility. 27 Radio Circle Drive, Mount Kisco.

Katonah Studio Jazz Band at Via Vanti!: 9 p.m. KSJB, pays homage to classic jazz legends Wayne Shorter, John Coltrane, Duke Ellington, Stan Getz, Bill Evans and other masters of the genre. Founded in 2005, KSJB derives its name from the Katonah recording studio of Robert Kessler, a Grammy-award winning composer, audio producer and pianist. Via Vanti!, 2 Kirby Plaza, Mount Kisco.

Ruff Start Rescue Family Fun Day: 1 p.m  Racing, bowling, arcade, pizza, raffles, auctions and a 50/50 raffle. Ruff Start Rescue rescues dogs in need who are facing possible euthanasia due to overcrowding in shelters. Admission is $40 per person. Grand Prix New York, 333 N Bedford Road, Mount Kisco.
