What's Happening Around Mount Kisco This Weekend

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. — A butterfly party, a bird-banding demonstration and a live birds of prey exhibit are among the events happening around Mount Kisco this weekend.

Friday, Aug. 3

Monarch Butterfly Party : 4 p.m. Kids are invited to a party to release the butterflies that grew up in the library. To register or for more information, call the Children's Room at 914-864-0130. Mount Kisco Public Library, 100 E Main St., Mount Kisco.

Saturday, Aug. 4

Bird Banding Demonstration : 7 a.m. Kids can see wild songbirds up close as they help safely capture, band and release birds during the program. Suggested donation is $5 per person. Westmoreland Sanctuary, 260 Chestnut Ridge Road, Mount Kisco.

Mount Kisco Farmers Market : 9 a.m. The market is held year-round at the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester in association with John Boy's Farm and Slow Food Metro North. Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester, 351 Main St., Mount Kisco.

Talons! A Bird of Prey Experience : 11 a.m. This free event is an interactive raptor show and flying demonstration. Kids will have a chance to hold a bird, as well as take in-flight pictures, so families are encouraged to bring a camera. Mount Kisco Public Library, 100 E Main St., Mount Kisco.

Sunday, Aug. 5

Grand Prix/Spins Bowl Happy Hour at Fuel : At the facility's Fuel Restaurant, happy hour patrons can get a table keg special: $20 for Budweiser and $30 for imported beer. Diners can also take advantage of a second special: one child eats free with the purchase of two adult entrees. Grand Prix New York Racing/Spins Bowl, 333 N. Bedford Road, Mount Kisco.
