While the weather is warm, the county closes a 13.1-mile stretch of the Bronx River Parkway from the Westchester County Center in White Plains to Scarsdale Road in Yonkers from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Sunday.

This year’s route has a slightly different look, as there will only be one open lane in each direction near the Crane Road Bridge in Scarsdale, as a four-year renovation project continues.

Bicycle Sundays land weekly from May 5 through June 30 and from Sept. 8 through Sept. 29.

Cycling and fitness enthusiasts come from around the tri-state area to take the trip on the Bronx River Parkway. Cathy Mancuso, who was in from Stamford, Conn., said that it’s something she and her husband look forward to each spring.

“It’s worth taking the trip to take this ride. The scenery is absolutely stunning, and where else can you bike on a major road,” she said. “When you get a beautiful day, like today, there’s no better way to spend a Sunday afternoon.”
