MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. -- Dr. Praveen Rudraraju, director of the Center for Sleep Medicine at Northern Westchester Hospital, explains why seven to eight hours of sleep is so important to your health and shares tips on how to achieve a good night's sleep on Northern Westchester Hospital's blog.

According to Rudraraju, research from the Sleep Heart Health Study indicates that people who get less than five hours of sleep nightly are 2.5 times more likely to have diabetes.
