The newly renovated space has a "lovely but spare dining room," with jazz as background music, and would benefit by adding more Turkish-style elements in the decor, and "exotic music," said the report in the Times.
Appetizers "were plentiful and good," said the report, citing "soft,warm breads, cacik with cucumbers and garlic, tzatziki or raiti, and baba, among choices.
The kebabs are served invariably with rice, salad and yogurt, said the Times.
Other entrees on the menu include lamb chops and turlu, a vegetable stew packed with bay leaves in a "tart" sauce, said the report.
Servers are helpful and service is attentive, according to the New York Times.
