MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. -- Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco has been ranked among the best in New York state overall and in several specialties, according to a study published in U.S. News & World Report.
The hospital was recognized for expertise in gynecology, urology, geriatrics, orthopedics and neurosurgery, as well as being ranked 25th among the top hospitals overall in the state.
“Providing the highest quality, patient centered care is the primary focus of the staff and physicians at Northern Westchester Hospital," Joel Seligman, president and chief executive officer of Northern Westchester Hospital, said in a statement. "We are proud of the high level of dedication to patient care by our staff and are pleased to see this being recognized by national organizations, including U.S. News and World Report."
U.S. News publishes Best Hospitals to help guide patients who need a high level of care because they face particularly difficult surgery, a challenging condition, or added risk because of other health problems or age. Objective measures such as patient survival and safety data, the adequacy of nurse staffing levels and other data largely determined the rankings in most specialties.
The specialty rankings and data were produced for U.S. News by RTI International, a leading research organization based in Research Triangle Park, N.C. Using the same data, U.S. News produced the state and metro rankings.
