In addition to the 5K, there will be an event for children ages 7-12, the Kids 1 Miler, beginning at 9 a.m. Proceeds will benefit local and international organizations focused on women’s health and education. An avid marathoner, Sementilli has participated in six New York City Marathons, countless half-marathons, 10Ks and 5Ks.

“Our run/walk is a chance for families to encourage fitness and spend time together outdoors, while coming together to support causes that provide services and scholarships to girls and women,” said Sementilli. “We are proud to support charities that make a difference in the lives of women and girls, some who live locally and others who live in Kenya and developing countries like Afghanistan, Pakistan and Syria.”

Advance registration is available through Thursday, May 14, at noon. To receive a free T-shirt, you must register by April 30. The 5K run costs $35 for adults and $25 for students (18 and younger); the Kids 1 Miler costs $20. Online registration is available at http://fasttracktiming.com/races/the-running-goddess-5k.
