Mount Kisco, NY-- With Sidewalk Sales Days in the rearview mirror, it is time to look ahead to what those days could represent to some: a new beginning. That is the case for Rob Burns, the manager of the soon to be newest food venue in town.
The Burger Joint, which is in the heart of Mount Kisco on South Moger Avenue, will be opening in just a few weeks. Burns used the sales days to make the village aware of his opening, and he believes it made a lasting impact.
I think itll help because it gets the word out to the community that were here. Handing out menus, water bottles, bracelets, t shirts; were introducing ourselves, Burns said.
Philip Bronzi, president of the Mount Kisco Chamber of Commerce, agreed, saying he thinks the day has helped many of the vendors who chose to participate.
"We had a really good crowd and positive feedback, a very good response. A lot of business is getting done here," Bronzi said. "We have vendors outright selling goods, service companies setting up appointments, contractors setting up estimates. A very positive response."
Another young establishment drawing crowds was Katie Macs BBQ, a year-old Main Street eatery which was serving pulled pork to the masses.
Its going fantastic. Its just an exposure thing for us. Its not to make money as much as it is meeting the community and hanging out with them, said owner Bob McMahon. Its what keeps us in business. We take a lot of pride in our food, and quality matters here.
