Here are this week’s questions:

Q: We’re waiting with anticipation for Armonk Square to open in “late spring.” Are they on schedule and do they have a more specific opening date? – Erica Schneidman

DV: Erica, North Castle Town Supervisor Howard Arden told me that, as of this week, workers on the site have been telling the town they are targeting "late May" for completion. They are also taking Arden on a tour of the work that’s been done and what still needs to be finished this week. I think it’s safe to say everyone is excited to have it up and running for this summer!

Q: What is the status of the sidewalks project in Mt. Kisco? There are still sidewalks to be repaired and/or built on Lexington Avenue and on the streets behind the hospital (where some just stop). – Sally Fay

DV: Sally, according to Village of Mount Kisco Town Planner Jim Palmer, there are several sidewalk projects on deck. New and repaired sidewalks were just completed at St. Marks Place by the hospital last week and work on Lexington Avenue is planned in the near future.

However, Mount Kisco's biggest sidewalk project is planned to be done on Brookside Avenue and Grove Street. This is a $200,000 project that is half-funded by the county through a  "Community Development Block Grant," which were previously awarded to select towns and villages in Westchester County, including Mount Kisco.

Unfortunately, such grants are frozen at the moment as the county and New York State resolve some financial indifferences. When those matters are resolved, Palmer said that project will be back on track.
