MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. – Mount Kisco continues to offer services to residents as they recover from Hurricane Sandy.
About 600 Con Edison customers were still without power in the village as of Friday morning. The Mount Kisco Senior Center continues to be fully operational and includes senior meals (meals on wheels) and programs.
The village offices and the public library continue to operate on normal schedules. Outlets are available to laptops and cell phones.
The shelter set up at the Boys and Girls Club of Northern Westchester has been closed. The Red Cross shelter is now at Chappaqua Crossings, the former Reader’s Digest site. Residents should call 211 to make arrangements.
Friday’s trash collection continues as normal. Recycling and refuse collection continues with its normal schedule next week. The village is not collecting limbs, stumps and other debris from private property at this time (unless debris is tied in 4-foot bundles). Residents are asked to not place stumps, limbs and other debris in the public right-of-way. Violators will be noticed and ticketed.
The village board meeting scheduled for Monday, Nov. 5, has been postponed and will be rescheduled. The library will be open Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Tuesday’s election is still scheduled to take place. Village polling places will open at 6 a.m. and will remain open until 9 p.m. Village polling places are all fully accessible and operational. For more information, call the Westchester County Board of Elections at (914) 995-5700.
The village continues to assess and document damage to public facilities for potential future reimbursement. Businesses and homeowners should document and substantiate losses in the event that federal funds become available for reimbursement.
