The feasibility study on the installation of microgrids across New York state comes from a partnership between Siemens, Booz Allen Hamilton and Power Analytics. The prize is sponsored by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority.

Microgrids are energy systems that can operate independently in the event of a power outage.
