Update, 4 p.m. Tuesday

An estimated 2,263 customers in Mt. Kisco were without power at 4 p.m. Tuesday, according to Con Edison reports.

MT. KISCO, N.Y. - Hurricane Sandy knocked out power for almost half of all customers in Mt. Kisco as of Tuesday morning, according to Con Edison.

An estimated 2,181 out of 5,075 Con Ed customers in Mt. Kisco were without power 9 a.m. Tuesday. It’s unclear when customers can expect power to return.

More than 170,000 customers across Westchester County are still without Tuesday due to Hurricane Sandy, Con Edison representatives said.

“This is the largest storm-related outage in our history,” said Con Edison Senior Vice President for Electric Operations John Miksad in a press release.

The National Weather Service has downgraded Sandy to a post-tropical cyclone, but the storm is still producing sustained winds up to 65 mph according to the NWS 5 a.m. update. A wind advisory is still in effect for Westchester County until 6 p.m. Tuesday. Weather officials said the brunt of the storm hit the area Monday night, but additional power outages could occur throughout Tuesday.
