Elijha A Bonet, who attends FDR High School, was arrested Tuesday by Town of Hyde Park Police after the department received information from a concerned citizen that he made statements on social media about shooting students at FDR High School, said Lt. Robert Benson.

After determining Bonet's identity, officers went to his residence early and brought him back to the Hyde Park Police Department for questioning, Benson said.

A short time later Bonet was arrested and charged with making a terroristic threat, he added.

Bonet was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail on $25,000 cash or $50,000 bail bond. He was also ordered to complete a mental health evaluation.

He is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Hyde Park Justice Court on Tuesday, Dec. 19.

The Hyde Park Police were assisted by The Hyde Park Central School District and the Dutchess County District Attorney’s office.
