Maiolo, a MKCC member for 45 years, was also instrumental in establishing the Guiding Eyes Golf Classic and continues to be a driving force behind the event’s success.

Founded in 1977, the Guiding Eyes Golf Classic has raised more than $10 million since its inception. As part of the classic, Guiding Eyes also presents the Corcoran Cup, the “Masters” of blind golf featuring 14 top competitors from around the world.

Maiolo has made it his personal mission to ensure the integrity of the Corcoran Cup and can name nearly every blind golfer who has competed in the event's 38-year history. “Few organizations have such a stalwart leader and friend as does Guiding Eyes in Al Maiolo,” said Michelle Brier, Guiding Eyes director of marketing and communications. “We were proud to be invited to join MKCC as the club expressed its admiration for his boundless energy, his ‘the sky-is-the-limit’ belief in the golf classic's potential, and his unwavering devotion to individuals with vision loss who are served by Guiding Eyes dogs.” For more information on the 38th annual Guiding Eyes Golf Classic hosted by New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning on Monday, June 8, contact Tricia McTernan at 914-761-7111 or tricia@hrginc.net.
