MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. -- A Mount Kisco woman pleaded guilty to stealing nearly $1.4 million from two customers at the Ossining bank she managed, according to Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore.
Maria Rodriguez, 46, was the branch manager of the M&T Bank in Ossining and began systematically stealing from two of the customers in June 2008, the district attorney said.
Over the course of five years, the defendant stole money from the victims by writing unauthorized checks to cash, making unauthorized cash withdrawals, and requesting an ATM card and making unauthorized ATM withdrawals.
Rodriguez stole $1,112,127.40 from one of the victims and an additional $256,644 from a 92-year-old retired Ossining Police Officer, the district attorney said.
Ridriguez pleaded guilty to one count of first and second-degree grand larceny and one count of third-degree criminal tax fraud. She will be sentenced on May 20 and faces a maximum of 25 years in prison, the district attorney said.
