Mt. Kisco Library Gears Up for Weekend in Art

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y.—Even though weather reports may have dashed dreams of the beach or the park, we’re betting residents aren't too keen on sitting in the house all weekend. So why not browse some local artwork and curl up with a good book at the Mount Kisco Public Library instead? This Saturday, village painter Allison Ciampi and photographer Rob Lerich will display their work for the enjoyment of residents and art-lovers alike.

Ciampi’s paintings, which have been on display since August 6, blend different techniques to create the outlines of male and female figures. Some of the pieces are color blocked, while others, like the 3-part portrait series depicting a woman’s butterfly-filled midsection, are more whimsical.

The color bursts of orange, blue and purple in this series also play a special part in calling to attention the natural beauty of a woman’s physique. To have a word with the Iona College graduate on her inspirations, come to the library this Saturday afternoon from the hours of 1-3p.m., when she holds the closing event for her exhibition.

As the summer season draws to a close, the travel photographs of Rob Lerich in the library’s display case will help folks fondly reminisce on their own warm-weather getaways. Those who have participated in the Library’s Adult Summer Reading Game are also invited to celebrate the activity’s finale.
