MOUNT KISCO, N.Y.,-- One day Joanna Galli will be a household name. With an established website, a growing brand and a book in the works, theres little standing between Galli and her dreams.
The Mt. Kisco native is currently working on her first manuscript that will teach readers how to be a Healthy Italian.
Not sure what constitutes someone as a Healthy Italian? Galli explained that it is a person who applies an Italian mindset to living, loving, and eating.
We live passionately. We love deeply. And we eat pleasurably, she said.
For Galli, growing up in an Italian family has influenced the way she approaches life.
To many Italians, the most important things in life are family, friends, and food. And I am no different. My heritage has taught me to embrace what I have, be happy with it, and be proud of it. I always count my blessings, and I try my best to live my life with passion, she said.
Now, Galli is teaching others in Mt. Kisco, and beyond, how to have a healthier lifestyle.
The book is about living well, loving well, and eating well. And I teach how this can be done by adopting an Italian mentality and applying it to every aspect of your life, she said.
Italian cuisine may not have the reputation of being overly healthy, but Galli, whose favorite food is pasta, believes it is just how you prepare it that makes it unhealthy.
Im always sure to add vegetables and some sort of protein to my pasta for a healthy, balanced meal, she said. Contrary to popular belief, pasta is really healthy for you. Italians eat much smaller portions and they always balance the pasta with other food groups.
Although Galli is not sure when her manuscript will be complete, she updates her website, www.joannagalli.com , with the latest news, as well as recipes and lifestyle tips.
