The re-enactment involved a procession that began in front of St. Francis of Assisi Church, went onto Green Street and then continued in the parking lot for the police station and village courthouse. It concluded on Dakin Avenue, adjacent to another portion of the church.

The events are called the Passion of Christ, said Rev. William Damroth, of St. Francis Parish.

The annual re-enactment is put on by members of the area's Hispanic community who are parishioners of the church, Damroth added.

The re-enactment was conducted entirely in Spanish.

Part of the event is called the Stations of the Cross, where several stops are made at different points that were marked with crosses. A narrator spoke each time the event stopped at a cross.

Participants in the re-enactment were dressed for their parts, which ranged from Jesus to saddened followers to Roman soldiers.
