Elms is competing in the 1,500 freestyle, 400 individual medley and 200 freestyle. Qualifying for this meet is an incredible accomplishment for any swimmer. Elms is just a sophomore in high school, which adds to the excitement of this event.

The ARENA Grand Prix meet is a prestigious meet for swimmers who achieve the qualifying time standards. Olympic swimmers such as Michael Phelps, Nathan Adrian, Tyler Clary, Missy Franklin and Elizabeth Beisel will also be competing at this meet.

"River is one of the hardest-working athletes I have ever met," said Christopher Jankowski, head coach of the Storm Aquatics. "This accomplishment is well deserved based on River’s dedication and work ethic."

Elms is a sophomore at Horace Greeley High School.
