No passengers were injured when a school bus crashed into a utility pole on Route 172 Thursday morning, Bedford police said.

The crash, which occurred around 7:20 a.m., took place near Clark Road, backing up traffic on Route 172 for the morning commute, Bedford police said.

The bus was towed and the utility has been repaired, opening traffic to a smooth flow again, police added.

The crash is under investigation.
