Dr. Ruth Robertson, 98, Of Mount Kisco, Retired OB/GYN

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. – Dr. Ruth Geissinger Robertson, 98, of Mount Kisco, died on Monday, March 16.

She earned her medical degree from the University of Michigan in 1939, one of eight women in a class of 80.

Board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, Robertson moved to Mount Kisco in 1948 and worked at Planned Parenthood for more than 35 years.

She also had a private practice and worked as a part-time physician for the local school district.

She was an active volunteer for many organizations, including the Northern Westchester Hospital Library, the New York Unit of the Herb Society, First Congregational Church of Chappaqua and the Katonah Community Center.

Survivors include four children, Jamie Robertson of Fort Worth, Texas, Edie Manza of Gaithersburg, Maryland, Jean Robertson of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Susan Robertson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren; and a large extended family.

Her husband, Dr. Douglas Robertson, preceded her in death.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, at First Congregational Church of Chappaqua, 210 Orchard Ridge Road, Chappaqua.

Oelker-Cox & Sinatra Funeral Home, Mount Kisco, is handling the arrangements.
