Edith Hickey, 85, Longtime Mount Kisco Resident

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. – Edith Albanese Hickey, a longtime resident of Mount Kisco, died July 17 in Danbury, Conn. after a long illness. She was 85. 

She was born July 31, 1926, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Charles and Josephine Albanese. After graduating from City College of New York, Hickey began working for the Institute of International Education in 1947. She then started a career with IBM in 1964 and retired in 1989. 

A longtime patron of the arts, Hickey enjoyed acting with the North of Broadway Players in Chappaqua. She was also took pride in preparing unique dishes for family and friends.  

Hickey is survived by two sons, Dana, of Mount Kisco and Kevin (Marianne), of Wilton; as well as several nephews, nieces and cousins. 

Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Cassidy-Flynn Funeral Home in Mount Kisco. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Mount Kisco.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Southwestern Connecticut or the ASPCA.
