MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. – Frank N. Scala, a lifelong resident Mount Kisco resident, died Dec. 9 after a prolonged illness, surrounded by family. He was 79.
Scala was born Feb. 14, 1933, in Mount Kisco to Nicholas and Angelina Ruggiero Scala. He served in the Army from 1953-55, during the Korean War. Scala was employed by Finest Supermarkets.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Burnham Scala; two daughters, Lynn Hards and Laurie (Jeff Elderkin) Powell; a son, Michael Scala; a sister, Theresa Scala; three brothers, Peter Scala, Leonard Scala and Nicholas Scala; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Grace Scala.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Oelker-Cox and Sinatra Funeral Home in Mount Kisco, with a military service at 6 p.m. and a prayer service and 7 p.m.
