MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. – Geoffrey E. Brock, of Mount Kisco, died Thursday, Feb. 19. He was 85.
Brock was born in Peasedown St. John, England, earning a B.Sc. in metallurgy from Cardiff University in 1950 and immigrating to the U.S. on a Fulbright Scholarship.
He received M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in metallurgy from Penn State in 1952 and 1954, respectively.
Brock served in the U.S. Army from 1954-56, joining IBM and retiring in 1989 after holding several positions in the company's Components Division and World Trade Corporation.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Ellen (Meg) Grube Brock. He is survived by three children, David and his wife, Carole, of Ambler, Pa., Julia of Congers, N.Y. and Andrew of Mount Kisco; his brother, Ronald, and sister, Margaret, both of England; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bruce and Sylvia Wagner of Sea Cliff, N.Y.; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are private at his request.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Adopt-A-Dog of Armonk. Funeral arrangements are by Oelker-Cox & Sinatra Funeral Home.
