MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. -- Harry Hudson Reynolds, a longtime Mount Kisco resident, died in his home on Sunday, Dec. 14. He was 90.
Reynolds was a World War II veteran, having enlisted in the U. S. Army in 1943. He was in the 162nd Regiment of the 41st Infantry Division, the Jungeleers. He served in the Pacific and was part of the Japanese disarmament force landing outside of Hiroshima in September 1945.
Reynolds was honorably discharged on Dec. 21, 1945 with a Purple Heart (having been wounded in Mindoro, the Philippines), a Victory Medal and a Philippines Liberation Ribbon.
Reynolds worked for the County of Westchester Department of Corrections, retiring in 1979 as a Deputy Warden with the rank of Captain. He was a member of the Mount Kisco Rotary Club and served as president in 1986 and 1987. He received the Paul Harris Fellow Award.
Harry was preceded in death by his wife, the former Bernice Howes, also of Mt. Kisco. They were married for 59 years and had two daughters, Lynda and Wanda. Harry is survived by his daughters, two grandsons and two great-grandchildren.
