Rescuers had searched the waters for the man for nearly an hour into early Sunday.

Boaters noticed the man, whose identity has not yet been released, was missing from their 38-foot cabin cruiser as they approached the docks in Stamford Harbor, Stamford Fire Capt. Philip Hayes said in a statement. They had traveled from Westchester.

Stamford fire, police, and EMS were dispatched at 11:25 p.m. Saturday night, Hayes said.

Stamford emergency services began both a shore-based and open water search effort, with mutual from the U.S. Coast Guard, Greenwich Police, and Darien Police, he said.

The crew on the Stamford Fire Department’s Engine 1 noticed a reflective object in the water off the public dock located behind John Boccuzzi Park off Southfield Avenue in the city's Waterside neighborhood, Hayes said.

Engine 1 directed the Stamford fire boat to the location, and located the man at 12:38 a.m. Sunday, Hayes said. He was pulled from the water and the crew began resuscitative efforts, he said.
