Branch Falls on Power Line in Bedford, Starts Fire

BEDFORD CORNERS, N.Y.-- A tree branch fell on power lines Thursday morning in the vicinity of 60 Chestnut Ridge Road and started a fire, according to Bedford police.

Police received the report at 8:45 a.m. and by 10 a.m. police said they had cleared the scene. Bedford firefighters also responded to the call, police said.

According to police, utility company Con Edison continues to repair the damage to the power lines. There are currently three power outages in the town of Bedford, according to Con Ed's online outage map.
